London Welsh director of rugby Steve Lewis is delighted to have raided Championship rivals London Scottish to bring Adam Kwasnicki back to Old Deer Park.

The 29-year-old hooker made 33 appearances in four seasons with the exiles before joining Scottish where he made 134 appearances and captained the club after a brief spell with Barking.

Lewis has also persuaded Kwasnicki's Scottish team-mate prop James Hallam to make the move, while Zimbabwean tighthead Lovejoy Chawatama makes the switch from Rosslyn Park.

“It is great to welcome Adam back to Old Deer Park. He left to play semi-pro and further his career in physiotherapy, and since his return to the professional game he has built up a huge reputation as one of the stand-out hookers in the Championship.

Scottish link: Lovejoy Chawatama played a season at London Scottish prior to joining Rosslyn Park

"With over 100 appearances for Scottish, the captaincy in 2014/15 when they reached the Championship play-offs, he will add substantial maturity and leadership qualities to the squad.

“His partner for many of those games was James Hallam and I look forward to them resuming their partnership with us next season. He is technically excellent at the scrum and was part of a dominant front row at Scottish which took them to the play-offs.

“Lovejoy converted from the back row to the front row a couple of seasons ago and has been a big success so far. He has been highly recommended and we are expecting big things from him next season as he will develop quickly in our environment.

“These three together with our existing players is going to make competition for front row places next season awesome.”
