Rosslyn Park's defence coach Scott Sneddon gets his first chance to watch his charges in action this weekend when they take on Principality Premiership side Newport in Wales.

For Sneddon, as well as skipper Hugo Ellis and lock Adam Frampton, it is a return to their former club

Park play two more pre-season matches before the National League One season kicks off on September 3 at Ampthill.

They go to Richmond on August 20 and host Cambridge on August 26.

Sneddon said: “We are very much looking forward to the trip to Rodney Parade.

“It’s our first chance to have a look at new and existing players in Rosslyn Park jerseys and to see how combinations of new and old work together.

"We’ll be taking a strong squad to play against a strong Newport team."

“They are coming off the back of a successful season and have recruited well in the off season for the year ahead so we feel it’s a great challenge first up”.

He added: “Personally, I am looking forward to to re-visiting Rodney Parade.

"Hugo and Adam will back me up when I say that all associated with Newport are some of the most friendly and welcoming people around.

"We are very much looking forward to returning and sharing a few more memories on and off the pitch."
