Ben Jones-Bishop admits there will only be one thing on his mind when he arrives at Harlequins RL on loan for the 2010 Super League season - making sure he is in the first team when the Londoners clash with Leeds.
The 21-year-old arrives at the Stoop on loan for the next campaign from the Rhinos and is seen as a definite star of the future by the Headingley outfit.
But the full-back insists that will be the furthest thing from his mind when Super League XV rolls around.
Jones-Bishop said: “The reason I am coming to Harlequins is the fact that I want to play first-team rugby, and here I think I have a chance.
“When you have someone like Brent Webb playing in your position, like I have at Leeds, you are not going to get much of a look in.
“There were other Super League sides that were interested in taking me, but Quins was the one that got my interest.
“I cannot wait for next season and when the fixtures come out the first thing I will be looking for is when we are playing Leeds home and away.
“I will definitely want to be in the first team for those games so I can make an impression.”
Jones-Bishop follows Ben Kaye, Luke Gale and Ben Jones in making the switch to the Stoop from Leeds over the past season.
And he admits that also factored into his thinking.
He added: “I know Ben and Luke pretty well, and I also know Brian McDermott from his time at Leeds.
“My girlfriend is also from London, so we come down to London quite a bit.
“Coming down to London will not be that big a shock for me - I will be living with Ben Jones and I cannot wait to come down and get started.”
Jones-Bishop has made a handful of appearances for the Leeds first team, including appearing against Harlequins themselves in 2008.
But he has proved a major commodity for the academy side, running in 21 tries last season alone.
The full-back added: “I like to get on the end of plays and I like to be the link between the playmakers and the wingers.
“I love creating opportunities and I love finishing them off.
“The one thing I really want to work on is my defence, and I will really be trying my best when I am at Harlequins.”
