Kingstonian 0 Tooting & Mitcham United 1

Kingstonian ended up with the Geoff Harvey Vase wooden spoon after Sunday's defeat at King George's Field saw the Terrors edge into third place.

Both sides rested most of their players from Saturday's semi-finals, which gave managers Alan Dowson and Mark Beard a chance to examine the depth in their respective squads.

Staines Town went on to win the tournament, beating hosts Corinthian Casuals 3-0.

Ks play their next pre-season friendly against a Brighton & Hove Albion X1 at Kingsmeadow rhis Friday (7.45pm).

On five minutes, Tooting striker Taurean Roberts's throughball set up winger Phil Williams but Ks keeper Nick Taylor was out quickly to smother.

Then, a Roberts cross from the right was picked out of the air by Taylor.

Four minutes later, Roberts took off on a long run to the Ks box. Centre-back Jamie Summers tracked back to block before winger Lino Goncalves skied over.

A Ks corner from Bah Suleyman flew invitingly across the face of the Terrors goal.

On 22 minutes, Chris Kiganda upended Goncalves in his own box, conceding a penalty. Upstepped LINO GONCALVES to lash the spotkick home to his left as Roberts dived the wrong way.

A cross from Sulayman out on the left found winger Dave Ellard but he headed over at full-stretch.

Then, an Ellard throughball saw Tooting keeper Danny Bracken on the edge of his box to frustrate Ks skipper Stefan Martin.

Ks almost helped themselves to a equaliser in the first minute of the second half.

From out on the left, Ellard whipped the ball away from Tooting centre-back Hassan Nyang and picked out Martin on the edge of the Tooting box but his first-time effort went wide of the near post.

On 52 minutes, a long throughball from Goncalves saw Williams frustratingly just fail to control deep in the Ks box.

A cross from Devon Williams from the right saw Ellard head down for sub Rawlings Omuruyi close in but his shot was blocked.

Then, a neat little header from the impressive Ellard found Kiganda close in but his snapshot was well held at point-blank range by Bracken on his line.

Then, almost a freak goal - a long, high clearance from Bracken was tipped over by Roberts after a wicked bounce.

Sulayman's free-kick from the right fell for Kiganda but he was immediately closed down.

Tooting replied with an edge-of-the-box drive from Roberts that was blocked and Williams swept the loose ball from the right across the face of the Ks goalmouth.

With 11 minutes to go, the Terrors could have put the game to bed, when sub Rashid Kamara let loose a fierce drive that was blocked by an agile and full-stretch Roberts and cleared for a corner by an alert Summers.
