Pennycock's Scottish double set up Godman to kick win
10:55am Friday 12th October 2012 in Sport
London Scottish had Phil Godman’s last-gasp penalty to thank for sealing a 25-24 over last year’s Championship finalists Cornish Pirates on Saturday.
Chevvy Pennycock recovered from a sin-binning inside the first 90 seconds at the Athletic Ground to score a try – converted by James Love – and peg back an early Pirates lead.
The visitors opened up a 14-point lead early in the second half, but a second Pennycock try and one from Mark Bright, plus Godman’s conversion and vital final kick clinched the win.
Scottish go to Gala in the Scottish Borders tomorrow in the British & Irish Cup.
