Jessie Knight was Herne Hill Harriers’ star performer last weekend, winning a bronze medal at the England National Age Group Championships in Birmingham.

She recorded a personal best 56.47 and is ranked second in her age group over the distance this year.

Louis Keen recorded three personal best during the day to finish fourth in the U17 men’s shot, missing out on a medal by just 1cm.

Harriers also won seven gold medals at the Surrey Indoor Championships at Sutton Arena on Saturday and Sunday.

Zansom Plummer recorded a championship-best 7.24 seconds to win the U15 men’s 60m final while Ashley David Campbell took the U20 title. There was also a double for Herne Hill’s women in the 60m with Vanessa La Fon the U17 winner and Funto Fabunmi-Alade the U20 champion.

Jerrel Clarke took the men’s U20 long jump and there were senior women’s titles for Jennifer Honeybell in the pole vault and Sharon St Luce Boyce in the shot.

Robert Graham was second in the mens 60m, with Michelle Watson a very close second in the senior women’s race.

Harriers took the team prize in the U13 age category at Saturday’s East Surrey League Cross Country relays on Wimbledon Common on Saturday, placing nine of the top 15 runners.

This coming weekend, the Harriers will host the Frank Harmer 10k road race in Brockwell Park on Sunday 6th March 2011. The race starts at 10:30am and is open to runners and non-runners of all abilities. Also included this year is a one mile fun for children.
