Bushy Park Girls Cricket Club bounced back from defeat to retain their Middlesex Cricket Association Indoor U13 girls’ tournament title in Whitechapel on Sunday.
Bushy Park lost two of their three pool games, but recovered to beat Stoke Newington in the semi-final – having lost to the same team by 20 runs in the group stage.
They beat North Middlesex by 17 runs in the final.
“It was a performance of character and determination. To play two sides, who had already beaten us, in the semi-final and final and win takes real courage,” said manager Mark Avery.
Imogen Higgins claimed four wickets to be the tournament’s joint leading wicket taker, while Jessamy Low was the second highest run scorer in the competition.
