He's gone: Danny Carroll has resigned as manager of Walton Casuals SP72680
Danny Carroll has resigned as the manager of Walton Casuals.
He stepped down after 18 weeks in charge due to his commitments as the head of sport at Danes Hill School in Oxshott.
The former Bromley striker leaves the Swans third from bottom of the Ryman Division One South, having presided over five wins in 22 games.
Carroll said: “Management is a full time job and it is not my main job, which I have to put first.
“When I took the Walton job on, I made the club aware that it would be difficult for me.
“My assistant manager left last month and that has increased the workload. I just could not commit the time anymore. I have to concentrate on the job that pays the bills.”
He added: “I have enjoyed my time at Walton, it is a great club and I am convinced they will be fine.
“I shall be down there at some point to cheer on the team, it means a great deal to me, I keep saying ‘us’ instead of ‘them’.”
Tony Gale is taking over as interim manager.
