Dowson: There is no crisis at Ks

Ks boss Alan Dowson has dismissed talk of a Kingsmeadow crisis.

Kingstonian crashed 2-0 at home Billericay Town on Saturday and midweek results saw them slip outside the Ryman Premier League play-off places for the first time this season.

Dowson’s men had topped the table in January following a 2-1 triumph over current top dogs Dulwich Hamlet, but  a miserable run that has featured three league wins in the past two months, has put the skids under his side’s promotion credentials.

The former Millwall defender, pictured below, currently feels like he is one of the most unpopular men in Kingston, but the ex-Walton & Hersham boss has come out fighting by insisting his side will finish in the top five.

“You look at people on the dole and seriously ill and that is a crisis. There is no crisis at this football club,” he said.

“When you look at the results we have had since Christmas then people only look as far as the manager as the reason and I accept that.

“But when you are in this situation all you can do is get your head down and work harder and harder, which is what I will do.

“We are still in the mix. I think we have got to win eight of our last 13 games to get in the play-offs and we have shown already this season, that we are capable of doing that.”
