Paul Doswell has made his first signing ahead of Sutton United’s fresh assault on the Skrill South title.
The manager is convinced goalkeeper Jason Brown is destined for the Football League, and has acted by recruiting Dartford’s Alan Julian.
The 30-year-old former Gillingham and Stevenage stopper will contest the number one shirt with Tom Lovelock, who has signed a one-year deal at the Lane.
Joining Brown on the departure list are Dean Sinclair and Gavin McCallum, who have been released by Doswell.
Michael Spillane will be staying on for another season, while skipper Charlie Clough has signed a two-year extension.
Doswell said: “I don’t want to make too many changes to the squad, but I felt Dean and Gavin deserved regular first team football, something I cannot guarantee.
“I am looking for a new right back and left back, and then I think we will be done – I only want to go with a small squad.”
He added: “Alan [Julian] comes highly recommended and he had an excellent season with Dartford in the Skrill Premier, and his experience will be invaluable for Tom.”
