Sutton United boss Paul Doswell is calling on fans to fill Gander Green Lane for the pre-season curtain raiser against Chelsea U21s.

The clash is a repeat of last summer’s friendly, which attracted 2,557 pairs of feet through the turnstiles on a Tuesday night.

This summer kick-off against the Premier League U21 champions is on Saturday July 12 at 3pm, and tickets are already available.

Doswell said: “Last season we had a crowd of more than 2,500 for the Chelsea game and I can’t emphasise enough what a huge difference it makes to the club financially to help kick-start the season.

“One of the main reasons for that attendance was the help the supporters gave to this great club in getting out there delivering leaflets, getting into the town and getting the interest going into the game.

“I really hope when people see what the new ground looks like they will return in their droves.”

Admission to the game is £10 for adults, £6 for concessions and £2 for U16s.

Tickets can be bought at suttonunited.net.

Ticket holders will have their own dedicated turnstile on the day.
