Leatherhead get their FA Cup campaign under way this weekend with the visit to Fetcham Grove of Faversham Town.
When the sides met in last season’s Ryman Division One South, Faversham came out on top with a 3-1 win in Surrey, while the return fixture in Kent finished 1-1.
However, Tanners boss Richard Brady believes that history and form, Faversham are currently third in Ryman Division One South, go out the window when the FA Cup comes round.
And that may be just as well as Tanners are without a win in four Ryman Premier outings, the latest being a 1-1 draw at Bury Town on Tuesday night.
He said: “We approach these matches the same as any other but there is more atmosphere and fever surrounding them.
“With cup football anything can happen.
“The FA Cup has got a special attachment so we will be up for that game.”
