Neil Warnock says his Crystal Palace stars will get through a rough patch where lady luck appears to have deserted them.

A second-half Juan Mata strike gave Manchester United all the Premier League points from a 1-0 win at Old Trafford.

Palace are without a league win since beating Leicester City 2-0 at the end of September, and are on a run of four defeats in five games.

Warnock said: “We’re going through a spell at the moment where nothing is going right for us.

“Fraizer [Campbell] had a great chance and you don’t get many like that, and if he scores then I think that puts a lot of pressure on Manchester United and they would have had to come out a bit more.

Defender positive in the face of Old Trafford defeat

“We might have had a shout for a penalty before half-time, and their goal has taken a slight deflection, although I think Julian [Speroni] will be disappointed.”

He added: “It is hard at times for a lot of clubs at this level but you just have to keep going. I can't criticise the lads today.

“The passing was poor at times, though, we made some bad decisions with the ball.

“We didn’t get the ball out to our wide players in the areas that we like – we gave the ball away under no pressure.

“You have to work hard to make your own luck. Liverpool next, after last year that should be a cracking match and I am looking forward to it.”
