In the aftermath of a fourth consecutive Premier League defeat, Alan Pardew still praised under-fire keeper Wayne Hennessey.
The Eagles went down 3-1 at home to Champions League chasing Tottenham Hotspur.
Having taken the lead with an own goal – their first league goal in six games – the Eagles went down to goals from Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Nacer Chadil.
Palace dropped to 11th in the table, while Spurs remain in the top four.
Hennessey had taken the flak for mistakes in the defeats at Aston Villa and Manchester City.
Pardew said last week that he wanted a reaction from the Welsh international, and despite conceding three goals, he believes he got it.
“You need to see your goalie respond when he is under pressure, but he did,” Pardew said.
“His kicking and everything was on the money.”
He added: “I was pleased with him. There’s been a lot of pressure on him and I thought he was terrific.
“He had no chance with the two finishes at the end.”
