Alan Pardew has warned Tottenham Hotspur’s Dele Alli to cut out the nasty side of his game.
The Crystal Palace boss pointed the finger at the England international for stamping on Yohan Cabaye during Saturday’s 3-1 defeat at Selhurst.
Alli would go on to score one of the goals of the season in Spurs’ win, and that is what Pardew want him to concentrate on.
After being quizzed about a possible elbow on Jan Vertonghen by Connor Wickham, Pardew said: “I haven’t heard anything from my analyst about that.
“I certainly do know that I was in front when Yohan Cabaye got stamped on by Dele Alli so you know, these things happen.
“It’s something he [Alli] needs to cut out of his game. I don’t know why he did. It was something he shouldn’t have done.
“He’s a great player and goal-wise he summed that up.”
Palace are now without a Premier League win in six games, and the own goal gifted them by Spurs on Saturday was their first goal in the dire run.
This weekend, they host Stoke City in the FA Cup.
