Crystal Palace are reportedly set to trigger Andros Townsend’s release clause at Newcastle.
Townsend is widely expected to leave Newcastle this summer after the club suffered relegation to the Championship.
The 24-year-old has a £8m release clause written into his contract at St James’ Park and Palace are ready to trigger it, according to the Sunday People.
While Townsend missed out on England’s final 23-man squad for Euro 2016, Palace are said to be ready to offer him an immediate return to the Premier League.
The Leytonstone-born star joined Newcastle in January after falling down the pecking order at Tottenham.
Townsend flourished towards the end of the season but could not prevent the Toon’s relegation.
