Crystal Palace are on the brink of signing West Ham defender James Tomkins, according to reports.

A product of West Ham’s academy system, Tomkins signed a new five-year deal with the Hammers in February 2015.

However, the 27-year-old did not travel to America for the club’s pre-season tour ahead of a potential move to south London.

Sky Sports say Crystal Palace expect to complete a deal for Tomkins in the next 24 hours.

Tomkins, who has made over 200 appearances for West Ham since 2008, would become Alan Pardew’s third summer signing following moves for Andros Townsend and Steve Mandanda.

Former England U21 star Tomkins is currently the second longest serving player at West Ham behind captain Mark Noble.

Meanwhile, the Hammers are reportedly interested in Palace winger Yannick Bolasie, who has been one of the Eagles’ stand-out performers over the past two seasons.
