Midfielder Florian Jozefzoon has signed a new contract at Brentford which will extend his stay at Griffin Park until 2019, the club has announced.

Jozefzoon, 26, joined the Bees from Dutch Eredivisie club PSV Eindhoven in January for an undisclosed fee on an initial six-month contract.

An option was installed to keep him at the club for a further year which was activated at the end of last season.

Manager Dean Smith said: “Florian showed the staff enough last season to earn himself a new contract. He excited us when he made his debut against Aston Villa and has not disappointed since.

“We are really pleased that he has signed a longer-term contract with the club, he will be a great addition.”
