Bees boss Mark Warburton expects Jake Bidwell to have a long and distinguished league career.
The 20-year-old former Everton youngster collected the young player of the month award for January ahead of Saturday’s 3-0 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
And the Brentford manager expects him to collect many accolades.
“He reminds me of Steve Perryman. He is just one of those players who plays every week,” said Warburton.
“He has got 103 league appearances under his belt and he is not 21 years old.
“You look at the past winners of that award and now Jake Bidwell is there with them.
“It is a fantastic achievement for him. But he’ll be the first to say it is a team effort.”
