Crocked Lee backs Bees' Moore to shine

Bees shotstopper Richard Lee has insisted he is ready to wrestle the number one shirt at Griffin Park from Simon Moore’s grasp.
 

The 29-year-old former Watford keeper has watched from the sidelines as his 22-year-old rival has made a name for himself between the sticks this season.
 

Boss Uwe Rosler admitted he was the key man in his side’s 1-0 win over Oldham Athletic on Saturday, while club insiders reckon the manager could be ready to hand Moore the job permanently.
 

Lee has not played a game this term having been been sidelined with a recurrence of  minor knee and back injuries, but he is close to a
return to full-fitness.
 

And he insisted he did not mind the competition.
 

“I am delighted that Simon Moore has done so well in my absence," he said ni his blog at westlondonsport.com.

“We speak in-depth before every game and work closely together and he couldn’t be a better guy to have around.
 

“I have been helping him with the psychological side of things, something I’ve studied intensely myself, and he’s really taking to it.
 

“Simon shows a real interest in that side of the game. I’ve never known anyone so focused and to have such a fantastic attitude towards learning and improving.
 

“He is extremely open-minded and I think it is showing in his performances.
 

“When I am ready to return, I will be fighting for my place back in goal.
 

“Obviously there will be the odd moan here and there I can honestly say that players do believe competition for places is a good thing.
 

“It highlights those who are willing to push harder and do more to get into the team and, in the process, it raises the game of those already in the team too.
 

“It can only be a good thing for the club.”
