Crystal Palace striker Cameron Jerome has admitted he is set to return to Stoke City for pre-season training this summer.

The 27-year-old summer loan acquisition has missed only six out of 23 Premier League games since Tony Pulis arrived in November.

Jerome confirmed he has not yet discussed his future with either Palace or Stoke, and that he is ready to return to the Potters for the start of pre-season.

“There hasn’t been any talk of my future,” he said.

“I am just concentrating on playing football, the main thing is I want to play, I came here to play and I said to Ollie when he signed me and Steve [Parish] that I believe the club would stay up.

“It isn’t my decision really. If things materialise in the summer then that is between the two clubs.

“Obviously I am only initially here for a year and the main objective was to keep the club in the Premier League and play games – that is what I have done."

He added: “I will go away, have a holiday and then go back to work hard in pre-season for Stoke then I will sit down with the manager there and see what his plans are for me, if I became available and Palace showed an interest then obviously it would be something I was interested in."

Jerome is one of very few players in the current Eagles squad with a wealth of Premier League experience, and that has clearly helped both him and the team out in difficult times during this campaign.

Recent results have lifted the Eagles towards the top half of the table and gifted them certain survival, so confidence is not an issue for the former England U21 international.

He said: "The results [against Everton and West Ham] show the confidence going around the place at the moment.

“We are just full of belief that if we play our game we are perfectly adapted to beat most sides in the League.

“Momentum is with us but we can’t get complacent and relax.”

He added: “Tony obviously deserves his accolades and the boys deserve a pat on the back too.”
