Brede Hangeland has been picked out as a possible weak link by Crystal Palace fans.

Almost half those asked (43 per cent) put the defender above Marouane Chamakh (28 per cent), Damien Delaney (20 per cent) and Julian Speroni (9 per cent) in a survey carried out by 90mins.com.

Unsurprisingly, fans also voted Yohan Cabaye (47 per cent) as the man most likely to make an impact as the key player in the new season – ahead of Yannick Bolasie (32 per cent), Jason Puncheon (12 per cent), Wilfried Zaha (5 per cent) and Mile Jedinak (4 per cent).

There was also a huge endorsement of Alan Pardew’s managerial nous as 95 per cent of Palace fans said he was the man for the job – although quite why 5 per cent thought differently is a mystery.

Despite being out on loan recently, Jonny Williams is still in the hearts of the Selhurst Park faithful.

Big kick-off: Crystal Palace legend warns against easing into new season

The Welshman topped the poll with 43 per cent when fans were asked which youngster they want to see play in the first team.

Sullay Kaikai was second (26 per cent), Zeki Fryers (19 per cent) and Keshi Anderson (12 per cent) made up the rest.

And who are fans most afraid of this season? No prizes for guessing that Chelsea, the reigning Premier League champions, top the list on 46 per cent – followed by Arsenal (28 per cent), Manchester United (17 per cent) and Manchester City (7 per cent).
