Wilfried Zaha is being wrapped up in cotton wool in an effort to get the Crystal Palace winger fit for the FA Cup final.

Boss Alan Pardew confirmed that the 23-year-old would sit out the Premier League clash against Stoke City at Selhurst Park this weekend.

However, Zaha could feature in the final game of the season at Southampton on May 15.

Pardew said: “Wilf still has a bit of a problem, but should be fine by the final.

“Wilf's a naturally fit guy. He did the injury before the semi-final and he monitored him afterwards and saw there was a slight tear.

“There's no way Wilf will play this weekend, we don't want to risk him. But he may play at Southampton.”

Pardew is also sweating on the availability of Yannick Bolasie (illness) and Mile Jedinak (injury), but there could be a first Premier League start for Sullay Kaikai, who has been recalled from his loan spell at Shrewsbury Town.

The striker has scored 12 goals in 29 appearance for the Shrews in League One.

“Sullay has been a real success at Shrewsbury. He's a player that we sent out to develop and he has,” Pardew said.

“I'm not sure I'll involve Sullay this weekend, but I will involve him at Southampton. He's earned that.”

He added: “We were unfortunate to lose last week [at Newcastle United], but we were on a decent run and we want to keep that going.

“We need to get a win in the league, so our priority is Stoke. We're trying to go into that with the team at full force.”
