Boss Alan Pardew admits he has no idea what winning the FA Cup could mean to Crystal Palace as a football club.

While the Eagles’ Premier League form collapsed since the turn of the year, they have marched relentlessly to this weekend’s final.

Pardew is convinced the Eagles’ standing in English football has rocketed on the back of that success.

It means, should Palace upset the odds and beat Manchester United at Wembley, their popularity go into orbit.

He said: “We've had to beat some very good teams to get to the final and getting there is a great achievement by the players.

“Getting to the final has probably gained us four or five thousand fans already. It's hard to gauge what a win would mean.”
