Alan Pardew may have signed one striker, but his hunt for a second has been met with a rebuttal.

Crystal Palace have reportedly been making enquiries about Toulouse forward Martin Braithwaite, after Pardew admitted he wanted another frontman to work with new signing Christian Benteke, and Connor Wickham.

However, Braithwaite has poured cold water on the idea, stating that he wants to spend at least one more season with the French Ligue 1 outfit.

The 25-year-old Danish international told Omnisport: "There have been a lot of rumours, and some of them are true.

CRYSTAL PALACE: Pardew endures a bittersweet weekend

"There have been some offers, but they haven't been good enough for the club to sell me, or anything good enough in my eyes to make me push to go.

"I want to stay in Toulouse one more year because we have something really nice going on. I think we're in for a great season."

The Eagles host Blackpool tonight in the EFL Cup, and Pardew is yet to decide whether or not Benteke will make his debut.

One man who could get the nod is keeper Steve Mandanda – the summer signing from Marseille.
