Victor Moses struck a spectacular second-half equaliser to earn Crystal Palace a point against Barnsley after the visitors had taken the lead at a freezing Selhurst Park.
The 19 year-old Palace forward, linked with a January move to Barcelona, Liverpool or Tottenham Hotspur, added a few more pounds to his value when his overhead kick from the edge of the area sailed into the top left-corner of the Barnsley goal in the 51st minute.
Moses’ fourth goal of the season gave Palace manager Neil Warnock another chance to wax lyrical about his star striker.
“What can you say that I've not said before?" he said.
"I look at the top of the Premiership and think there must be something wrong if they do not come down to look at him.
"I think the others have missed out. He's finally clicked because he is doing the mucky bits of football now.
"He's doing the hard graft and you cannot get anywhere without doing that. When I was a young lad I used to watch Ian Rush working his socks off.
"It doesn't matter who you are, you have to work hard and then your ability will come through.
"He's been playing well for months. He scored two goals at Reading two weeks ago that were not dissimilar.
"He is now tackling back - he will remember me in years to come when I am asking him for tickets.
"I look at the result of the top lads in the Premiership and you cannot tell me he would not get in their sides. I would pay money to watch Victor at the moment. He's got it in his locker this lad."
Although Moses took all the headlines for his goal, Palace should have scored as early as the second minute when referee Keith Hill pointed to the spot following a foul on the former Whitgift School pupil by Ryan Shotton.
But Darren Ambrose, having shaken off a virus to start the game, smashed his penalty against the cross bar and over, failing to add to his 13 goals for the season.
Buoyed by this let-off, Mark Robins’ men took the lead in the 19th minute after Anderson De Silva robbed Clint Hill on the half way line and fed Daniel Bogdanovic, who then raced away before coolly slotting home past the despairing dive of Julian Speroni.
Palace did rally after this setback, Moses and Alan Lee going close, but had to wait until the second half to get back into the game.
Both sides had chances to win the match in the closing stages but the game ended with honours even.
