Nevermind Kingstonian, Met Police front man Charlie Collins believes he and strike partner Bradley Hudson-Odoi can tear up the Ryman Premier League.

The pair marked boss Jimmy Cooper’s 10-year anniversary at Imber Court with both goals in Monday’s 2-1 win over the league leaders at Kingsmeadow stadium to ensure the Blues remained unbeaten in the league since November 26.

Cooper’s men are up to 13th in the league and face both of Ks’ title rivals Wealdstone and  Maidstone  United in the closing weeks of the campaign.

And Collins, 22, reckons he and Hudson-Odoi have the firepower to put a spanner in the works of the promotion race and inspire a play-off push of the Blues’ own.

“Our manager has instilled in us that we could be the best strike force in the league,” said the nine-goal striker.

“Me and Brad both believe we are good enough players individually – and as a pair – to be two of the best strikers in the league.

“There is always room for improvement. As a team we are improving and as individuals we are starting to hit a bit of form.

“We are a young side, we are getting some experience since the start of the season and we are getting the hang of things.”

Hudson-Odoi, now under contract, has scored four goals in eight games since switching to Imber Court from the Hungarian side Vasas SC in November.

And he believes Cooper, below left, is behind his and Collins’ resurgence.

“I’m totally buzzing to be playing up front with Chaz. The gaffer has instilled confidence in us two to go out  and express ourselves and it is working,” said the 25-year-old ahead of Saturday’s visit of Lewes.

“We complement each other well and we have a good relationship on and off the pitch.

“We should have got the three points on Saturday at Maidstone, but we did our job at Ks and we’ve got to get our heads down and kick on with the same confidence.”

Ks boss Alan Dowson, who takes his side to Grays Athletic tomorrow, reckoned Hudson-Odoi’s physical approach caused his side plenty of problems on Monday and Cooper knows his side’s play-off hopes rest on his strike pair’s shoulders.

“There are plenty of games to go, so we’ll see where we end up,” he said

“At the start of the season we did not have anything going forward and couldn’t score goals. Now we have an attacking threat and we’re giving the opposition something to think about.”
