Hampton & Richmond Borough boss Alan Dowson is hoping Brendan Kiernan will find his feet at the Beveree, if he takes the chance on joining the Beavers.

The 21-year-old ex-AFC Wimbledon winger impressed with a goal and an assist in Tuesday's 3-3 draw with an Ipswich Town development XI.

Kiernan has slipped down the football pyramid since leaving the Dons in 2013 and was last with Conference South Staines Town having spent last season at Bromley.

"I believe we are the right club to help him push back up the leagues," he said.

"He has dropped down the leagues and somewhere down the line he has got to stick with one club sooner or later.

"He asked us to come and trial for us, so that is a sign he wants to be here and I think he liked being with us.

"It is on going, but we are hopeful."

One man who has put pen to paper on a deal is midfielder Jake Ross, who was also a handful for the Tractor Boys' defence on Tuesday night.

He joins ex-Kingstonian defender Kieran Murphy and Sutton United loan pair Nicholas Bignall and Bedsente Gomis in moving to the Beveree ahead of Saturday's FA Trophy clash at home to Grays Athletic.

And Dowson is hopeful of adding one or two defenders to his roster for the weekend.

"I am talking to two centre halves as we speak, so I hope to have one or two more in for Saturday," he added.

Defender Moussa Diarra is expected to return to Hampton having been recalled from his loan spell at the Beveree by parent club Hemel Hempstead Town last week
