Meyrick James-Lewis has not done enough to land a deal at Kingstonian, but boss Tommy Williams will keep tabs on his progress.

The former Walton Casuals midfielder impressed in a handful of pre-season matches for Ks, but has been cut adrift from the club’s squad for the forthcoming Ryman Premier League campaign.

“Meyrick was unlucky and did very well when he was with us, but we are not in a position to be able to offer him a deal,” said Williams.

“He is a talented player and I can’t rule out something for him in the future.

“He’ll find another club.”

Williams has signed goalkeeper Elvijs Putnins as cover for Rob Tolfrey’s five game suspension, but he hasn’t ruled out extending the former Woking shotstopper’s stay.

“We’re delighted to bring in Elvijs,” he said.

“We have given him the first five games and then we’ll monitor the situation from there.”
