Nick Kabamba is believes Brendan Kiernan can help him reach his pre-Christmas goal target and keep the Hampton & Richmond Borough goal rush going.

Former AFC Wimbledon man Kiernan signed for the Beavers ahead of the weekend alongside Sutton United youngster Shaquille Hippolyte-Patrick and the pair made an instant impact.

Boss Alan Dowson’s men beat Hendon 5-0 at the Beveree on Saturday and then thumped Merstham 6-1 on Tuesday night to move within touching distance of the Ryman Premier League’s top five.

Kabamba, who wants 10 goals by took his season’s league tally to five in the second of those maulings, which also featured Kiernan’s first for the club.

And the former Hemel Hempstead Town 22-year-old reckons more will come with Kiernan in the fold.

“Brendan has already provided me with two opportunities, that I was unfortunately unable to take,” he said.

“But I think he is the sort of player who will keep providing chances.

“I’ve got five goals now and want a goal per game between now and the end of the year to push myself and the team forward.

“With Brendan in the team that is more than possible.”

Kabamba arrived at the Beveree in the summer on a three month loan deal, but is set to sign a deal that will keep him at the club until the end of the season.

Hampton’s 11 goal sin their past two games have included four strikes from lanky defender Moussa Diarra and Kabamba is wary of the company he has at the top of the goal scoring charts.

“I’m really enjoying my football and getting plenty of game time and scoring goals, said Kabamba.

“The managers have talked about extending my loan until the end of the season and I am more than happy to stay.

“We’ve made a solid start and recently things have really started to click, so it is all about keeping this run going.

“I think Moussa and I are the club's joint top scorers at the moment. He is a defender, so I’ll be having words when we start conceding a few.

“But as long as we are winning and the goals are going in for us then I am more than happy.”
