A 3-0 win away to Concord Rangers is quite simply a fantastic result.

Everyone knows how tough it is to win there; something we found out last week, but Sutton played the game the right way and deservedly got the goals in the last 10 minutes to ensure victory.

I said last week that it would be a tactical battle – it turned out to be one Paul Doswell won, and won convincingly.

He played all the right players in the right positions and made the right subs at the right times, bringing Bolarinwa on being the most noticeable tactical masterstroke.

Craig Dundas showed once again that he is still an excellent player at this level with a solid performance capped off with a fantastic solo goal to put Sutton ahead late on.

Sadly the game didn’t appear to be being recorded – it was a truly memorable goal. The defence deserve a mention as well for another clean sheet despite having conceded 3 against the same opposition just the week before.

It’s a win that puts the U’s back into a playoff spot which is certainly where they’ll be aiming to be at the end of April. Next up is a challenging trip to Hayes who defeated Sutton at home a month ago.

The main thing with playing Hayes is finishing chances – they’re not quite Barcelona in terms of footballing style but know how to grind out results.

However, having avenged defeat against Concord Rangers the squad will be confident of doing the same thing against Hayes and Yeading this Saturday.
