Croydon Bomber Chas Symonds will take time out to consider his future in boxing after defeat to Michael Lomax last weekend.
The 32-year-old was stopped via a TKO in the seventh of 10 rounds at York Hall as the pair battled for the vacant British Masters light-middleweight title.
The rivals last met in September when Lomax won on points, a result Symonds insisted was incorrect.
However, this time round, he admitted defeat to Lomax.
“I showed heart and bravery, and it was a real toe-to-toe fight that I think will live on in the memory,” he said.
“At the start he was not really pushing me and I was not in trouble.
“I had him down in the fourth, but he pulled me down with him and so it did not count.
“Then he caught me with a clean punch to the temple and that was it.”
He added: “I am going to take some time before I make a decision about carrying on.
“I want to sit down with my family and talk it through.
“There’s not much I have not done, I’ve fought some big names on the biggest stages and on TV, so I have done a lot.”
