New Addington’s Gareth Gardner is aiming to become only the second man to hold two Queensbury Boxing League belts at the same time this Saturday.
The 27-year-old carpenter already holds the super middleweight title having defeated Luke Dawson in November and now hopes to add the middleweight title to it when he faces Michael McPherson in the league's Night of Champions event at Epsom Down Racecourse.
“When I was boxing in the amateurs I was really a welterweight,” said Gardner, left.
“But coming back into the sport after my break I was a bit heavier to start with, but now that weight is coming off I feel great and I’m confident I can move back down the divisions gradually and hopefully win the title in each one.”
Croydon’s super middleweight Nigel James is also in action as is Wayne Alexander trained Lawrence Lofts.
