VOLLEYBALL: Malory Eagles have started work with a new volleyball academy at Ernest Bevin College in Tooting aiming to create playing pathways for talented juniors.
The team has made a couple of big signings in the form of 6ft 8in beach player Phil Smith, 6ft 9in northern import Ruari Isted and 17-year-old libero Chris Frost.
They lead the national Super Eights standings after two games, having begun their new season with a three-set victory over London Docklands at Ernest Bevin College and followed that up with another straight sets 25-20 25-16 25-18 win at Coventry & Warwick Riga last weekend.
