Broncos will be ready says Rodders
11:09am Friday 27th January 2012 in Rugby League By Stuart Amos
London Broncos second row Shane Rodney insists fans should not be concerned over Saturday’s 44-22 friendly defeat at Catalan Daragons.
Head coach Rob Powell’s men kick off the new Super League campaign with the visit of St Helens next weekend and complete preparations with the Capital Challenge against London Skolars today.
And Rodney, an off-season signing from NRL outfit Manly Sea Eagles, said there is no need to panic.
“The squad has a lot of new faces and pre season gives us the chance to learn each other’s style of play,” he said.
“We’ve been working hard on our combinations and with one more pre-season game under our belts, we will certainly be ready for the St Helens game.”
Rodney signed a three-year deal with the Broncos and cannot wait to prove himself in the northern hemisphere.
“Leaving Manly was hard and I loved my time there, but I have always wanted to play in England,” he added.
“I’ve watched a lot of Super League back home in Australia and it felt like the right time for a new challenge.”
Tries from Karl Temata and Tony Clubb, and a brace from U20 squad star Kieran Dixon, were the highlights in Perpignan.
