Senior secretary of rugby Andy Rees is hoping Twickenham finally beat their bogey team when they meet in the London Division Two North West title decider on Saturday.

Second-placed Old Priorians are the visitors, where a win for leaders Twickenham would seal their promotion as champions to London Division One South with one game to spare.

Should Old Priorians win, as they have in their past three meetings, they will have two games left to overhaul what would be a four-point gap.

“If we play our natural game, I am confident we can finally get that win over them,” said Rees.

“However, a mixture of the match’s importance, its one-off cup tie feeling and the nerves could make it tough to play naturally.”

Rees expects about 150 fans at Parkfields to cheer his side to the championship title for the first time in the club’s history.

“Those who have played the majority of the season will get the most pitch time, they deserve it for all their hard work,” he added.
