Neil Best has assured London Scottish supporters that they will rise to the challenge when they host Glasgow Warriors this Saturday, writes Oli Shapley.

The Scots take on Glasgow Warriors for the first time in 15 years in their final pre-season match before Championship kicks-off next week at home to Rotherham.

Former Ireland international Best has been impressed with Scottish over the summer and can’t wait to take on last year’s Pro-12 finalists tomorrow.

“It's going to be great for all our fans, the board and club members to see us up against one of the best sides in the country,” said the veteran flanker.

“With us being a Scottish team that plays in England it will feel a bit like a derby, so we know it’s important to perform well against a great side.

“We want to win which would give us a massive confidence boost ahead of the Rotherham match. We will rise to the challenge.”

Scottish beat Esher 42-12 last weekend at Richmond Athletic Ground, but despite the convincing win there are still areas to improve.

He added: “Our aim was not to concede any tries, but with so many fresh players and a few injuries there is no need to panic,” added the 35-year-old.
