England full back Mike Brown will sit out Harlequins' trip to Wembley this weekend after showing signs of concussion.

The 29-year-old missed England's Six Nations defeat to Ireland after being concussed in a collision with Italian centre Andrea Messi in the 47-17 triumph over the Azzurri.

Brown was given the all clear to return for the win over Scotland and Saturday's final day triumph over France.

But director of rugby Conor O'Shea has revealed Brown will not face Saracens at the home of English football.

"The France game was pretty brutal and Mike has come out of the weekend not feeling right," he said.

"He was cleared to play France. He wasn't concussed in the game, but he has shown symptoms of concussion this week.

"We have stood him down from all rugby. It is such a massive issue we are not about to take any chances with his health.

"It is our duty of care to make sure he is 100 per cent right.

"It is hugely disappointing for him and it is important people know why he is not playing because he was desperate to get out there this week."

Fellow England internatiojnals Joe Marler, Nick Easter and Chris Robshaw are expected to be in the line-up to face Saracens as Quins go in search of a top six finish.

O'Shea's men must win their remaining five games to close the gap to sixth placed Wasps - who have rock-bottom London Welsh among their remaining fixures - and land a guaranteed spot in the European Champions Cup next term.

"It is a big game and we are really looking forward to playing at Wembley," he said.

"But you have to remember, we lost to Sarries last year and won our last four games to make the top four.

"We played a lot better in that game than the result suggested and it was actually a boost to our confidence in a weird way.

"We know what we have to do. We will just focus on ourselves, take each game as it comes and see where that takes us."
