Harlequins and former English international centre Jordan Turner-Hall has announced his retirement from professional rugby due to injury.

The 27-year-old, capped twice by England and a Premiership champion in 2012, has been troubled by a hip problem since 2013.

He made nine appearances before December last term, but only played 16 minutes  - against Gloucester in February - in 2015.

But despite ending his career - which featured more than 150 appearances for the club and included an Amlin Challenge Cup triumph - on a sour note, Turner-Hall insisted he would remember the good times.

“Overall I’ve had so many great memories playing at Harlequins and although my career has sadly had to be cut short due to injury, they are memories that will live with me forever," he said.

“Playing with your best mates week in week out is what makes playing for Harlequins brilliant.

"You enjoy training and you enjoy the buzz that you get before each game and it’s something I’ll miss hugely.”

Harlequins director of rugby Conor O’Shea added: “Jordan has been a very special person to have around the club and will be missed by us all both on and off the pitch.

“He has played at times with no regard for himself, but always for the team and I know everyone in the club will support him in whatever his future holds.”
