Cobham director of rugby Steve Pope is only too happy Cobham can help Quins back Matt Hopper decide where his future lies.
The 30-year-old centre coaches one night a week at Fairmile Lane as Pope’s men bid for promotion to London Division One South this season.
Cobham have won four of their opening five games and Pope has noticed the Hopper effect already.
“Matt is looking at what he wants to do when he finishes playing,” he said.
“It is great to have a current professional on board, it gives real kudos to what we are trying to achieve.
"He is a down to earth kind of guy and to have someone with his experience talking to the boys gives us something extra."
Hopper has followed fellow Quins Nick Easter (Wimbledon) and Dave Ward (Guildford) into combining coaching with playing
While Quins academy coach and ex-player Tom Williams is enjoying success as player-coach with National Division One Esher.
