Scottish do not have Championship play-offs on their agenda
12:44pm Friday 22nd February 2013 in London Scottish By Tim Ashton
International call: England Saxons star and former London Scottish loanee Elliot Daly
London Scottish coach Simon Amor insists he is not looking at the Championship table, despite edging closer to the play-off berths.
Four consecutive wins – including last weekend’s 20-17 triumph at Cornish Pirates – has Scottish just eight points off the top four with six games still to play.
But Amor is thinking about the here and now, and has no intention of focusing on the table.
He said: “In terms of the table, what will be, will be. We’re just focusing on improving those aspects of our game that need attention, it is pleasing we’re getting the results but we’re still improving with each game and training session.”
Scottish, who host Jersey on March 2, had tries from James Love and Mark Bright, as well as 10 points off Love’s boot, to thank for the win over the Pirates.
Meanwhile, former Scottish centre Elliot Daly, who had a spell at the Athletic Ground on loan from Premiership outfit London Wasps last season, this week got a call up to the England squad preparing for tomorrow's Six Nations clash with France at Twickenham.
Amor said: “We cannot take any credit for Elliot’s development as an international centre but it was clear in the short time he was with us that he was an outstanding talent.
“The Championship is a great bed for talented rugby players to develop their skills and get noticed by the Premiership, and then
internationally.”
