London Welsh have bolstered their front row with the signings of Nathan Trevett from Cardiff Blues and Queensland Reds’ Kevin Davis.

London Welsh head coach Justin Burnell said: “These are two very solid signings which will bolster an already competitive London Welsh squad, as we aim to regain Premiership status.

“I know Nathan from my time with Cardiff Blues and have extensively researched Kevin and watched footage of him.

"I am confident that we have added two experienced players that can help us achieve our ambitions.”

Trevett, 28, will renew links at London Welsh with former Blues coach, and newly appointed Exiles head coach, Justin Burnell.

The loosehead prop signed for the Blues in the summer of 2011 having made his debut for the region against Harlequins in the LV=Cup in February of that year.

He went onto make 33 appearances for the Blues, scoring one try.

Davis, 27, is an athletic front row forward, capable of playing at both loosehead and hooker.

Bristol-born, Davis moved from England to take up a position with 2010 Premier Rugby champions University of Queensland and progressed from the Reds’ Academy in 2011 to their Extended Playing Squad in 2012 and again this year.

In 2012, he helped University at Queensland to a second Hospital Cup in three years, when the Red Heavies cruised to a 46-20 victory over reigning champions Sunnybank at Ballymore.

He also enjoyed a spell with Coventry, making his debut off the bench in a 36-30 win over the Exiles in April 2009 at the Butts Park Arena, having signed for the club as emergency front row cover until the end of that season.

Davis played Championship rugby for Coventry in 2009/10. Prior to that, he spent two seasons at Nuneaton.
