Twickenham’s head of senior rugby Andy Rees fears only a second successive promotion will keep his all-conquering squad together.

The Hampton-based club top the London Division Two North West table after eight straight bonus point wins and are back in action tomorrow when they visit Harpenden.

The Parkfields club are averaging 37 points per game, with only 12 conceded and hold a healthy six-point lead, although second-placed Old Priorians have a game in hand.

And Rees, whose side secured elevation at a canter last season, would like it to stay that way to ensure they repeat that success.

“The majority of the team has come up through the junior colts section and made the grade at senior level,” Rees said.

“They have learned the ropes together in the lower leagues and now they fight and support each other completely.

“We have exciting talent in the side, especially in the outside centre Dan Rose, who has scored 12 tries so far this season.

“We’re aiming for promotion, otherwise I fear we might lose some of the big names we have. They are that good.”
