A World War One recruiting sergeant has been encouraging residents to enlist this afternoon.
The military re-enactor was in Epsom marketplace, from 11am to 2.30pm, speaking to people about what the signing-up process was like for the war 100 years ago.
Sat at his desk with a clipboard, and a God Save The King banner behind him, the appearance of the 'sergeant' is part of a series events to commemorate the centenary of the start of the war in Epsom and Ewell.
