Jurassic World (JP4)

Today was the last shooting day of the long awaited fourth Dino sequel Jurassic World. The monster movie is in the can at last and is due out on release in June 2015. Producer Frank Marshall (a regular name credited in opening credits on most of Steven Spielberg’s movies) sent the following tweet showing ‘Picture Finish’ sheet

Wandsworth Times:

The next sequel will be even more popular now that one of Jurassic World’s cast members includes Chris Pratt, fresh from his success as Star Lord in the acclaimed Guardians of the Galaxy.

Wandsworth Times:

The film also stars Bryce Dallas Howard (Ron’s daughter) and Jake Johnson (Nick from TVs New Girl), Ty Simpkins (the cocky kid opposite Robert Downey Jr. in Iron Man 3) So a relatively young cast, apart from Irrfan Khan (Life of Pi).

Wandsworth Times:

The film will be directed by Colin Trevorrow, Safety Not Guaranteed (2012)

David Brent hits the Big Screen

Ricky Gervais has never really been able to put away his famous ‘Office’ alter ego David Brent. The mockumentary style Office first appeared tucked away on BBC2 in 2001. It had a slow start and gradually grew in popularity through word of mouth. Since then it has been sold to most European countries, the USA, Canada, Chile, Israel to name a few.

Wandsworth Times:

The final episode in 2003 was watched by 7 million people.

Brent made a guest appearance for a Comic Relief special last year and Gervais has made a few spoof You Tube guitar tutorials and he recently went on tour as series of sold-out gigs with the character’s band, Foregone Conclusion. So it’s almost a case of Life imitating Art.

Wandsworth Times:

It was announced today that the David Brent Movie will be called Life On The Road and will follow Brent’s progress over the last 15 years since his departure from Slough paper merchant Wernham Hogg.

Wandsworth Times:

He is now a travelling salesman financing a UK concert tour in the hopes of fulfilling his dreams of becoming a rock star. Gervais says “He thinks it’ll be like Scorsese doing the Rolling Stones, but we’ll show the full horror. He’s had to take two weeks off work and cash in his pension, because the session musicians in the band are costing him more than he’s getting in ticket sales.”

Produced by BBC films it is expected to go into production in 2015.

I for one can’t wait.
