Drama graduates are to perform a selection of their own productions at Battersea Arts Centre.

The students from St Mary's University College, Twickenham, created Caketree theatre company as part of the MA Physical Theatre International Ensemble programme.

The company will be performing two productions, Across the border and If Only, both of which have been devised, directed and acted by the students.

Across the Border is a physical comedy performance that ventures into a world where nobody can die, and explores how a whole country struggles with this new reality.

If Only retells the classic Brothers Grimm tale, Snow White, and is set in a dream-like reality creating a tale that explores the darker gothic side of what is often seen as a sweet tale.

Kasia Zaremba Byrne, MA Physical Theatre (International Ensemble) Director at St Mary’s commented, "Physical Theatre focuses on telling a story through the use of different performance styles including dance, movement, mime and puppetry, creating a very engaging experience for members of the audience.

"These performances are the culmination of the last year’s work for the postgraduate Physical Theatre students and is the ideal opportunity for members of the public to see a unique play from these talented young actors."

Across the Border will run on June 12 and 13 at 7.30pm and If Only will be performed on June 14 and 15, at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £5.
