Two dogs who were thrown out of a moving vehicle onto the streets whilst suffering with huge hernias have been helped on the road to recovery by Battersea Dogs & Cats Home and have now found a home in Hadleigh, Essex.

Giving blood is an amazing opportunity to save someone's life. However over the past few years, there has been a shortage of blood donors across the UK. Young people especially have been urged to give blood, as specialists fear the amount of blood given is less than the amount needed.

10 years ago Wandsworth Community Empowerment Network was born through funding from the Government Office for London. On 22nd November 2011 the 10th annual general meeting at Shaftesbury Centre, Austin Road will hear Lord Maurice Glasman give a celebration of the work done by the charity based on Battersea's Doddington Estate.
