I am shocked to find Battersea Park no longer has a police presence.

For the first time after many years of living in the area I had to call the 020 8871 7532 number still advertised by the council and other services.

I later found the service had been removed by Wandsworth Council as they felt it was not needed, not that anyone thought to update the service number.

The alternatives are 999, 101, and I have discovered that 'Events' office in the park is now taken on the 'Parks police' work, several calls to various numbers provided the info.

We all know Battersea has been taken over by money making events for the council but how are they spending the cash? Does it just go back to council coffers?

While the park is now being used by many schools bussing in their pupils, is the park becoming a good source of income with no regard for its upkeep and long term maintenance?

With so many schools on the doorstep and more driving in to use the open spaces, how can everyone stay safe!
