I think it is good that this unprecedented army homecoming parade has been cancelled.

It can give us a chance to reflect on why it was going ahead in the first place in Wandsworth. Who has organised it and what is the purpose of it?

Is it cashing on on the WW1 nostalgia fest which is glorifying rather than criticising that war and war in general and why Britain has been engaged in warfare abroad for so much of its military history?

So much of British history is bound up with its colonial past which was driven by greed and included slavery and subjugation of the people and countries they invaded.

The fact that Britain has been engaged in warfare and deploying soldiers elsewhere for centuries is not normal and acceptable and should be challenged.

It is a handful of MPs who take the decision to go to war. The majority of British people were against the invasion of Iraq and Blair, the gung-ho war monger, wants to be a peace broker in the Middle East!

So let us take action against the proposed military parade now that it has been called of as the troops are needed to help with aftermath of floods caused by man-made climate change.
