On Friday (February 21) at about 7.15 pm my wife and I were waiting at the Garratt Lane bus stop outside the Barclays Bank's Earlsfield Branch.
My wife suddenly felt very faint due to a food allergy reaction. She sat down on the pavement and then had to lie down.
Almost immediately, passers-by stopped and offered to help.
One gave her a bottle of water, a second (an off-duty nurse from the Brocklebank Group Practice) took her pulse and reassured her, and several people offered to call an ambulance.
Luckily, she recovered quickly and another young lady rushed over to the Magdelen Road Minicab office to call a cab which arrived almost immediately to take us home.
We were overwhelmed by such kindness from complete strangers most of whom were obviously on their way home from work.
So, if any of them read this letter, may we say a very big thank you for all your kindness.
Alastair Kennedy, Earlsfield
